Moving On

It’s been a long, somewhat strange trip but yesterday I dropped off the last of my paperwork to start my new job at Lulu. I’ll be a senior developer/engineer helping out with their transition to a distributed, sevice-y (not SOA! we hateses that word! hateses it!) architecture. The application and tech are pretty interesting and the people I’ve spoken with are friendly and pretty darn smart. I’m excited. Maybe if I’m especially charming I might be able to sneak some Erlang in…..

And yes, this means that I’ll be leaving Red Hat in just a couple of weeks. I’m going to miss it a lot. Red Hat has to have the highest concentration of smart people in a single company that I’ve ever experienced. But sometimes opportunities come out of nowhere that you just can’t pass up. This is one of those opportunities for me that I just have to take.
